IMASS Applications
Disaster Management and Emergency Response
The problem with emergency response is often not that there aren’t enough people to help – there are too many! Dozens of officers and firemen arrive at the scene, volunteers pour in, the Red Cross arrives, donations crowd city hall or the police office. Soon the Emergency Manager is struggling to coordinate the efforts of tens or hundreds of people across many organizations. If available, the command vehicle offers secure space for meetings, but only a few people can fit on board.
The IMASS provides 420 or 640 square feet of climate controlled shelter to support the many professionals and volunteers who need to respond quickly and effectively, regardless of weather or terrain.
Mobile Field Hospitals and other Mobile Health Needs
Around the world, the need for Mobile Healthcare is driven by natural disasters, war, viral outbreaks, terrorist attacks and other civic events. Hurricanes, tornadoes and floods challenge local hospitals and redirect the appropriate centers for care. Battlefields present an especially challenging, constantly moving scenario. Viral outbreaks have become increasingly common, and the need to treat patients apart from normal hospital operations is clear. Terrorist attacks can swiftly and dramatically change the location and need for care. Even sporting events such as marathons and triathlons demand warm or cool shelters and physicians or nurses to care for the injured or weary competitors.
The complete shelter solution for each scenario is the IMASS. Already in use by the US Army, the IMASS shelter can be used alone or together with other shelters (see photo). The rapid deployment of the IMASS and the durability of the construction allows for routine deployment, time after time. Viral outbreaks or contamination from Nuclear/Biological/Chemical agents can be contained and treated within the IMASS. And the need to treat athletes on the spot is well supported by the highly mobile, fully integrated IMASS solution.
Remote Service Scenarios
When critical equipment breaks down, it’s often during a snowstorm or a heavy rain. Or else extreme temperatures, high winds, or other factors make it difficult to provide effective service in the field. The IMASS quickly deploys to allow service technicians to work more efficiently, thereby returning equipment to operation sooner and helping to preserve revenue. The IMASS shelter is also available in larger sizes to accommodate airplanes or larger equipment
Civic Events such as festivals, blood drives, warming or cooling stations, outdoor concerts
Civic Events routinely offer shelter – but rarely offer climate controlled, secure shelter for all weather conditions. Special guests and certain applications require controlled climate and secure shelter, including:
- Blood Drives
- Command and Control Space
- Warming or Cooling Stations
